My History

As a 25-year resident of Carmel Valley, I've seen firsthand how Cal Am's mismanagement of our water supply and the resulting costs anger and frighten friends and neighbors. Will they be forced to move from the community they love?

Not if I have anything to say about it.

The Water District Board will face some critical decision making in the next few years as they consider the possibility of a Cal Am buyout.

My training, experience, and collaborative approach uniquely qualify me to help the Board make the crucial determinations we will live with for decades.

I received a Ph.D. in marine biology from the University of California. As a research scientist, my experience taught me to analyze large and complex data sets to arrive at the correct conclusion. Data always tells a story.

In my 18 years as President and 23 years as Artistic and Education Director of Chamber Music Monterey Bay, I have developed management, financial, and collaborative skills that will be essential as we consider complex issues.

But perhaps most importantly, working with the successful Measure J campaign and the Measure O campaign that preceded it, I have gained a deep understanding of the water challenges facing Carmel and Carmel Valley, the areas I will represent.
